Vernelle Ewert, 88 of Marion, passed away Friday, September 16 at the Tieszen Memorial Home in Marion.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, October 8th at 2pm at the Bethesda Mennonite Church of rural Marion with visitation beginning at 1pm.
Vernelle Ewert, born on January 13, 1934 went home to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on September 16, 2022. Born of German Mennonite parents, John and Marie Duerksen. In her youth on May 19, 1943 she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Saviour.
Vernelle attended Parker school district #80. On March 16, 1956 Vernelle married Irvin Ewert. To this union three children were born, Ramona K, Mark L, and Valerie D.
Vernelle was a dedicated member of the Bethesda Mennonite Church. She appreciated the fellowship of the Christ’s Co-Workers and enjoyed their many activities of giving and doing for others.
Vernelle excelled in her many different jobs, in addition to her role as homemaker. She especially enjoyed her position with Schmitt Music. She won several awards for her hard work and excellence.
Preceding her passing are : her parents, her husband: Irvin Ewert, her siblings: Alvin Duerksen, Augusta Schultz, Gladys Friesen, Robert Duerksen, her sister- in- law: Ardel Duerksen, brothers-in-law: Henry Schultz, Clarence Friesen.
Those remaining to celebrate her life are her children: Ramona K, Mark and his wife Cindy, and Valerie D, as well as her nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, and her brother Charles and his wife Evelyn.
